Aaron

Aaron Lee is a botanist, systematist, and computational biologist studying the long-term evolution and maintenance of plant biodiversity. His work incorporates genomic, spectroscopic, phylogenetic comparative approaches to understand the relationship between functional traits (phenotypes) and the underlying phylogeny (genotypes). He is also interested in how ML/AI can be used to study biodiversity data from natural history collections. Aaron earned his PhD from the University of Minnesota with Ya Yang, and his BS in Biology from The College of New Jersey where he worked with Wendy Clement. He enjoys exploring nature (both urban and wild), long distance running, and hanging out with his cat Rowan.
