Sophie Everbach is a plant physiologist and anatomist studying structure-function tradeoffs in trees modified by environmental stress and changing climate conditions. She specifically studies wood and how it responds and adapts to shifting water availability, sugar storage regimes, and mechanical stimuli in greenhouse and field settings. Sophie recently earned her PhD from Harvard University with Missy Holbrook and previously got her BA from Oberlin College double majoring in Biology and History. In her free time, she enjoys visiting bogs, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and playing bassoon in various music groups.
